The Madison County Board has approved a $750,000 loan to America’s Central Port. The money will be used for rail improvements at the 60-acre industrial site in Granite City. County leaders say the loan is more of an investment in the region.
Madison County Community Development Administrator Frank Miles tells The Big Z America’s Central Port has an annual economic impact of $208-million.

In total, the improvements planned will cost about $1.6-million and will provide more than one million square feet of industrial and distribution space with access to rail and water transportation.
