Construction work on the Corridor 67 Project in Jersey County is temporarily on hold. Earlier this year the Illinois Department of Transportation indicated there was funding in the Multi-year program for the Delhi Bypass, but that is now apparently not necessarily the case.
IDOT Engineer Kirk Brown says money is tight.

He says there is no way to be certain when the project will be given the green light, as each year the roads and bridges that need the most attention are determined. The next announcement as to what projects get funded will be in July of next year. As for the Jerseyville Bypass, Brown says that project is not part of the highway improvement plan at this time. The new stretch of Highway 67 from Godfrey at 255 to just south of Delhi opened last year.
