Race relations will be the topic of discussion at another public meeting tonight in Alton. It’s the second of two meetings at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church this month to continue a dialogue that was started by United Congregations of Metro East following the unrest in Ferguson that started last August.
Reverend Charles Burton is pastor of the Community Fellowship Church in Godfrey, and former President of UCM, and says they are bringing together mayors, police chiefs and other community leaders along with local clergy and the public to talk about race and get to know each others story:

Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church is located at 1 East 6th Street in Alton. Part one of the Alton gathering was held last Tuesday. The event is free.
