While the employer mandate portion of the Affordable Care Act has been delayed by a year, there has been no such delay for the individual mandate. The employer delay was done by the Obama Administration, and Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) thinks such a move needs to be codified, so there is now a bill working its way through the House of Representatives to do that.
As far as delaying the employer mandate, that is also something Davis would like to see gain traction in Washington D.C.
According to a recent Chamber of Commerce survey, 71% of small businesses say the Affordable Care Act will make it harder to grow their businesses. Half say that they?ll either cut hours or shift to part-time workers to dodge the additional costs the employer mandate will bring.
