The “Pinta” and the “Niña,” replicas of Christopher Columbus’ ships, have returned to Grafton. The ships are docked near the Loading Dock through August 17. For a fee, you can take a walk-aboard, self-guided tour every day of the week from 9am to 6pm.
Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau spokesman Jong Cambron tells The Big Z the ships return after not making the trip last year.

The Niña was built completely by hand and without the use of power tools. The Pinta was built in Brazil to accompany the Niña on all of her travels as sailing museums. Tours are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for students 5-18. Children 4 and under are free.
