"48 Hours Mystery" will air a story regarding the Coleman murders during this weekend's broadcast. Chris Coleman was sentenced to life behind bars in the brutal murders of his wife and two sons at their Columbia, Illinois home in 2009. At the time of the murders, Chris Coleman was a bodyguard for Joyce Myers, a nationally known televangelist.
Saturday is the one year anniversary of his murder conviction and the three year anniversary of the killings. During the course of the trial, jurors learned of a mistress and his attempt to hide the affair. Prosecutors said Coleman himself sent threatening notes to Sheri and the family in an attempt to cover up his crime. He had been serving his time at the Pontiac Correctional Center, but officials say he has been moved to an undisclosed location for his own safety.
