Charges may be filed as early as next week in a case of vandalism involving the destruction of lights at area railroad crossings. Someone has been breaking the lights out at railroad crossings between Brighton and Shipman, and the Macoupin County Sheriff feels confident they know who is involved.
Union Pacific Railroad provided a surveillance photo from one of the crossings, and Sheriff Shawn Kahl tells The Big Z once they shared that, the tips started coming in.

Kahl says there are two others associated with the man in the picture that could also face charges. In addition to charges in Macoupin County, Kahl says the railroad police are also considering action, which could include the filing of felony charges.
