Investigators say they have identified the shooter that killed 11-year-old Ronnel Jones Monday night at the Alton Acres housing complex. 18-year-old Ta’mon F. Ford of Alton has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, the apparent result of a dispute between two people on social media.
Investigators don't believe Jones was involved in the dispute. The shooting happened at around 5:15pm Monday and the Major Case Squad was activated shortly after. Investigators say Jones was not the intended target. Major Jeff Connor says Ford has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Ford is being held without bond. The charges carry up to a 60 year sentence, but since the crime was committed with a firearm, it could be enhanced to up to life in prison.
