The look of the Village of Brighton is changing as the higher speed rail service comes through town. Highly touted as an economic engine for many communities, the rail expansion is actually destroying a part of the village's current business district.
During a recent appearance on Let's Talk on The Big Z, Brighton Trustee Michael Roberts says a part of North Main Street is already changing.

There is undeveloped land west of Route 267 / 111 that is in Jersey County that has been annexed into the city that he says already has economic incentives available. Roberts says there is a business district tax in the area near the grocery store and funeral home, and other incentives may also be pursued.
