Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan says the county's Electoral Board did a non-political and thorough review of nearly 10,000 signatures on petitions to get a tax-cap referendum on the November ballot. The petition drive will ask voters if they want to cap the maximum tax rate for the county's General Fund at .20 cents. Dunstan says he is ok with the process that has led up to this point.
But Dunstan tells The Big Z he has issue with the way supporters of the petition drive pitched the effort.

Madison County Treasurer Kurt Prenzler was one of the supporters of getting the referendum on the November ballot. He is also campaigning to unseat Dunstan as County Board Chairman.
