The Riverbend Growth Association is sponsoring its first ever Cash Mob events this week to help kick off Small Business Week. The mob events will take place at 11am on Monday at St. Peter's Hardware and Rental in north Alton and Tuesday at 11am at Precision Electrical and Lighting in Bethalto. The idea is to get as many people in the stores as possible to spend $20 each.
RGBA President Monica Bristow says the concept is pretty simple:
Bristow says there are three rules to a Cash Mob, spend $20, meet three people you didn't know before, and have fun. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to take part in the organized event, or simply take time to spend money this week at a locally owned and operated business in the River Bend.
