The Riverbend Growth Association held its annual State of the Riverbend luncheon on Thursday and honored four local businesses and a city for achievements and contributions to the community over the past year. This years Captain of the Riverbend awards were presented to the city of Grafton, Bold Enterprises McDonald's, Freer Auto Body, Williams Office Products and Quality Buick GMC Cadillac.
RBGA President Monica Bristow says the city of Grafton went above and beyond to bring ferry service back to the town. Freer Auto Body was honored for its community involvement, especially with the United Way's Community Christmas. Quality Buick GMC Cadillac was awarded for their recent remodeling and renovation project. Williams Office Products was saluted for contributions to many local causes, and participation in fund-raising events. Bold Enterprises does business as the McDonald's in Alton, Godfrey and Bethalto and was honored for their recent remodeling of the Broadway location. The luncheon was held at the Commons at Lewis and Clark Community College.
