The North Rodgers Avenue Bridge replacement project will be moving forward in the new year, following Alton City Council approval. The Committee of the Whole approved a resolution to move forward with the project at Monday night's meeting, and full council approval is expected tonight at the Alton City Council meeting.
Alton Public Works Director Bob Barnhart tells The Big Z the work will take place between Myrle Street and Bloomer Drive.

The winning bid of just over $366,000 was submitted by Stutz Excavating, and is significantly lower than the engineer's estimate of $498,000.
