A bomb threat at the Wal-Mart store in Highland Monday night has been ruled a hoax by investigators. The retailer on Illinois Route 143 was evacuated after authorities received calls after two people leaving the store were allegedly overheard saying there was a bomb inside.
The incident happened at about 7:30 last night, and authorities blocked the entrances to the store while it was searched. The Illinois State Police bomb squad was also called to investigate. Two males in their late teens or early twenties were taken into custody and charges are expected.
