Police swept through the campus of SIU-Edwardsville on Monday following a threat made against the university last week. A threat was found written in a restroom on Friday saying a bomb would go off at 3pm on Monday. Authorities swept through the campus yesterday as a precaution and found nothing and no classes were cancelled.
A faculty member discovered the threat inside a third floor restroom at Peck Hall last Friday afternoon. Students and staff were notified of the threat via email and were asked to report any suspicious activity. The Illinois Secretary of State Bomb Squad was called in to search the building while police increased their presence at all three SIU campuses.
