The greenhouse at Civic Memorial High School will get some improvements over the summer, starting with asbestos abatement right after the school year ends. Bethalto School Board members approved a $9-thousand bid from General Waste Services for that work at a special board meeting last night.
In other business, the board signed off on a resolution to sell surplus furniture, approved an overnight trip for CM’s girls golf team later this summer and voted to table a vote on the construction of a new roadway entrance to the high school. The special school board meeting began at 5pm, and then went into special session for more than three hours before resuming to wrap up in open session. Board President Tom Beiermann had no comment to Z-1570 News following the meeting.
