Commuters will face their first rush hours today on the Blanchette Bridge at St. Charles since work began Friday. All traffic has now shifted to the eastbound lanes as crews work on repairing the westbound bridge. Those repairs are expected to last a year. Motorists who want to avoid the area are urged to use an alternate route like Highway 370.
The normal five lanes in each direction are now down to three narrow lanes in each direction between St. Louis and St. Charles Counties, and drivers are reminded to avoid traffic delays by using alternate routes.
