Chicago Blackhawks fans are over the moon with the latest Stanley Cup win. Some are showing their pride for the team by buying specialty license plates. Since the release of the sports plates“up to the present the Blackhawks are 2 to 1 over the rest,” Secretary of State Jesse White says.
9,198 Blackhawk plates have been sold. Runner up is the White Sox with 5,468. The Bears are next with 4,868, followed by the Cubs with 4,703 and the Bulls are last selling 1,653.

Along with allowing Illinoisans to represent their favorite team, some revenue from the plates goes to education.
“We’ve generated $1.3 million to be distributed to the Common School Fund. It’s a win-win situation for the people of the wonderful state of Illinois in that the fans are able to show team pride, team spirit, but yet the school system benefits from it,” White said.
