The budget was approved for the coming fiscal year and was the main focus of the monthly Bethalto School Boardmeeting last night. Among the other items discussed were parking lot work and roof maintenance for Civic Memorial High School, as well as administrative reports.
Regarding the budget, Bethalto Schools Superintendent Charles Stegall tells The Big Z how the trouble in Springfield has impacted the district.

Stegall says the district will continue to monitor all of their expenditures moving forward. He also says talk from the state to fund public schools differently is highly anticipated. However, the budget this year is built in at 89% pro-ration. Also last night, a presentation was made by local contractor GRP Mechanical Co, who has done projects for other districts in the past, in regard to the possible improvements.
