The Bethalto Rotary Club is considering launching a fund-raising campaign to save the town's community pool. Repairs in excess of $125,000 are needed to get the pool in shape to open to the public, and the village is thinking about retiring the facility if the money can't be raised.
Mayor Alan Winslow tells The Big Z there isn't enough money in the village's budget to pay for the needed repairs.

The splash pad is being paid for through a Madison County PEP grant. The creation of the pool 65 years ago was the result of a Bethalto Rotary Club project.
