Village Clerk Sue Lowrance, Mayor Winslow, Village Attorney Ken BalstersThe flooding over the past week was the primary topic of discussion at the Bethalto Village Board meeting last night.  Also at the meeting, two appointments were made and some of the Motor Fuel Tax funds that recently came in from the state were authorized for street maintenance in the village.

The board also reminds that dumpsters have placed outside the public works department located at 101 S. Prairie Street available to all village residents day or night for flood damaged items.

Cheatham says that a large portion of the water main in the area near the airport needs to be lined on the inside, which can be done without excavation by using cameras to identify the problem areas. However, he estimates the work will cost roughly $250,000.

Also at the meeting Matt Lehnen was appointed to the Fire and Police Commission and Brian Buhs was appointed to the Zoning board. The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 1st.
