One former U.S. Congressman could soon have a new highway named in his honor. Representative Dan Beiser says it's only fitting to name a new highway after Jerry Costello, who spent 25 years in Washington, D.C. representing much of this part of the state.
State Representatives want to name a new portion of I-70 after Costello, the span between I-64 and the new Mississippi River bridge. Costello (pictured) represented much of southern Illinois in Congress from 1988 until he retired last month.
