June, July and August are the peak of vacation season and the Better Business Bureau is reaching out to consumers to help them get the most out of their trips. The BBB is offering several tips that, if followed, can help make your trip more enjoyable and even more affordable. BBB Investigator Chris Thetford says that it all starts with planning ahead.
Thetford also recommends that you take the time to read the terms and conditions of any reservation you make online so that you fully understand what the limitations are and that you don't run into problems after you have already reached your destination.
In addition to doing your homework the BBB also recommends that you take steps to protect yourself from being burglarized while on vacation. He says that you should either stop mail service or have someone pick up your mail, put a few lights on timers and to do anything you can to make it look like life at your house is going on as usual.
