Some are calling it the "A-pork-alypse," or a shortage of pork this winter. It's been in the national news recently, but will we run out of bacon? John Anderson, an economist with the American Farm Bureau, says not to worry.
The USDA projects pork supplies to be down about 1.3% next year, with prices expected to increase about 4%. A spokesman with the Illinois Pork Producers Association Spokesman says the Illinois market did get hit with a double whammy this year, with higher feed prices and lower hog prices because of the drought.
