Renovations to the Atrium Hotel Alton are progressing nicely, according to the head of the local tourism bureau. The sale of former Holiday Inn on the Homer Adams Parkway was completed about a year ago, and the new owners have been upgrading the facility ever since, in hopes of becoming affiliated with a national chain.
Brett Stawar, president of the Alton Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau tells The Big Z that is an important step that appears to be getting closer to reality.

Stawar says all of the rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor have been remodeled, and the second floor is currently seeing the same work being done. There are also plans to redesign and re-brand the bar and restaurant.
