Two more Students of the Month have been chosen by the Alton/Godfrey Rotary Club.  Brian Green and Emily Russell are both seniors at Alton High, and are eligible for the $5,000 scholarship in this 16th year of the program.  Before the end of the year, they will be joined by 16 other students from Alton, Marquette and Mississippi Valley Christian School.
Brian Green is the son of Brian Green and Angela Robnett. Yolanda Green is Brian's stepmother.  He has earned selection to the National Honor Society and the Saturday's Scholars, and has participated in the Upward Bound program.  He has been a member of the Mu Alpha Theta Society, the Physics Club, and the Math League. He has also been a member of the 100 Black Men.  Green has been a member of the Marching 100 for the past four years and is very proud of his participation in a number of Percussion Ensemble groups during that period. Brian plans to attend the University of Missouri[Columbia] and major in Business Administration.

Emily Russell is the daughter of Brian and Sylvia Russell of Godfrey.  She has been on the National Honor Roll for four years, and is an Illinois State Scholar.  She has won journalism awards for her work on the high school yearbook.  Russell has also serving as team captain on the Redbird volleyball team during this past season.  She has served on the Student Council for four years and been a member on the school's Robotics and Mathematics teams, and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Spanish and Physics clubs, the Quill and Scroll Society, and the Interact club as well. Russell plans to attend Cedarville University and hopes to become a Pharmacist.
