The Alton City Council Committee of the Whole is expected to discuss a resolution giving the city's Comptroller permission to seek quotes from area banks to provide a line of credit in advance of plans to purchase ambulances for the city. The plan to have the Alton Fire Department offer ambulance services is apparently moving forward, but this resolution was laid over two weeks ago.
Alton Fire Chief Bernie Sebold previously told The Big Z this is a big project to take on.

The Fire Department will soon staff two ambulances in Alton, with the first at 20th street and the second will be at the College Avenue firehouse. Each ambulance will be staffed by at least one EMT-paramedic and one EMT Basic as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
