Alton Aldermen approved a series of resolutions at last night's Committee of the Whole meeting, clearing the way for new LED signal lights to be installed on roadways around town that fall under state jurisdiction. They will be installed on the Homer Adams Parkway, Broadway, and Route 140, and Brad Cunningham, the city's Public Works Director, says it is a good deal all the way around.
Work is expected to be done by the end of the year. In other committee business, a resolution to create an ordinance is being considered that would establish a late fee for failure to obtain a dog or cat license. The full council will meet Wednesday night at 7:30 to consider these and other measures.
