The Alton City Council Committee of the Whole has given preliminary approval to yet another piece of the puzzle that will become the Multi-Modal Transportation Center. The city's Department of Development and Housing will submit a Letter of Interest to the Heartlands Conservancy in its quest for a Complete Street Plans Grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation in the amount of $20,000.
The city's match would not exceed $5,000. The city's Director of Development and Housing, Greg Caffey, explains the desire to get the grant.
