Young baseball players from around the Riverbend area will have their talents showcased during a full day of baseball games on July 20th. The games will take place at Gordon Moore Park as part of the 3rd annual Southwestern Illinois Baseball League All-Star Games presented by Bluff City Athletic Club.
The games will feature kids ages 8 through 14, which equates to more than four hundred athletes according to Bluff City Athletic Club President Greg Volner.
Volner says that means that they will likely see more than 1000 people within the park that day when you include the parents and families of the players. He also says that each player will receive a medal prior to the game recognizing them as an all-star.
The only fee associated with the tournament is $5 for parking, which Volner says should help offset some the costs for the event.
