St. Louis Regional Airport in Bethalto has been relatively unaffected by the partial shutdown of the federal government and its manager is touting the results of a recent safety evaluation conducted by the FAA. David Miller says that an inspector recently spent three days at the airport grading it's rescue and firefighter responses, checking safety areas and reviewing its training records.

Miller Comments

Miller says it was a routine inspection that is conducted every one to three years and that the airport received high marks in each category. He also says that it is possible that the shutdown could impact the airport, including the delivery of paperwork and documentation of environmental issues or other projects.
