Residents of Alton, Bethalto and Godfrey have given their local leaders permission to negotiate with a third-party power company to secure a cheaper rate for electricity than the power company. All three communities must now hold public hearings as they get ready to take the next step in the process. Those hearings will be coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Meetings in Godfrey will be April 16 & 17 at 6:30pm, in Bethalto at 10am & 5:30 pm on April 18, and in Alton at 7pm on April 23 and 7:30pm on April 25.
