An event that has been running for 25 years in Dow, IL is celebrating their silver anniversary this weekend. The 25th Annual Olden Days "Silver Anniversary" festival will be held 2 miles west of Junction 109 & State Highway 3. Olden Days demonstrates the way Illinoisans lived before modern technology. The festival kicks off on Saturday 7am-9pm and 7am-5pm on Sunday. Festival promoter Tom Bechtold tells The Big Z what the goal of the festival is.

There is a unique play area for kids as well called agro-land. Demonstrations include making lye soap by hand, making pie crust from scratch, and how to make butter from home. Other attractions include a garden tractor pull, an antique tractor pull, and tractor and engine display. The featured tractor is Ford and featured engine is Maytag.
