Jersey's Morgan Allen.CHARLESTON — Morgan Allen ended her Jersey girls track and field career with a seventh-place finish in the high jump at the IHSA Class 2A Girls Meet on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Charleston.

Allen cleared 1.55 meters, or 5 feet, 1 inch, in the finals. Mendota’s Mariyah Elam won the event with a jump of 1.64 meters.

Allen said she had jumped 5-6 earlier in the season at Freeburg before injuring her ankle.

“I am glad I made it here this year after the injury and finished seventh," she said. "I am proud of that."

She said the season developed unexpectedly after the injury limited her ability to match her best height of 5-6.

“The year took me by surprise, I did hurt my ankle and was not able to jump 5-6 anymore, but I hope to do that again in college,” Allen said.

Allen said she is committed to Quincy University for track and field and wants to see how far she can progress at the college level.

“I am committed to Quincy University for track and field,” Allen said. “I am looking forward to the college experience and professional training I will receive."
