On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the organization Trinity’s Way will host Trinity Fest at Milton Schoolhouse in Alton. Local bands will play music from noon to midnight. Twenty spots are also available for those who would like to spend the night at Milton Schoolhouse and enjoy an after-hours haunted tour. Chris, one of the organizers, is eager to welcome the community for a fun day.
“I think it’s going to be a hit,” he said.
The music starts at 12 p.m. on May 16 and the lineup includes Spillie Nelson, Kirkos, Datura, Modern Pasta, Cave Fight, The Peacelords, Don’t Get Dead, Psychedelic Symphony, Erin Jo & The Greater Good, Justus & The Experience, Mudhound, and Max Michael.
There will be vendors and food available at the event. Maeva’s will sling both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks throughout the night.
The event is family- and pet-friendly. Kids age 10 and under are free. Chris reminds people that all pets are welcome, but friendly dogs are preferred.
“Don’t bring Kujo,” he joked.
General tickets cost $20 and can be purchased online or at the gate. They will only accept cash at the venue.
The After-Hours Experience costs $40 and is only available to 20 people. Your ticket includes an indoor 10x10 spot to set up camp, live music after midnight, and the haunted tour of Milton Schoolhouse.
“You get to stay all night at Milton Schoolhouse,” Chris explained. “I’m going to be leading a ghost hunt. That's totally unofficial, but I know where the ghost is supposed to be, and anybody that’s stupid enough to follow me, we’re going to go down there and probably meet a ghost. I ain’t scared of no ghost.”

All proceeds go back to Trinity’s Way. This organization, named for Trinity Buel, supports other local nonprofits with a focus on animal rights and environmentalism. Chris and a few other community members, including Buel’s mother, founded the organization after Buel’s passing at age 18.
They regularly host clean-ups and pet food drives. Over the past nine years, they have raised nearly $25,000 for other local nonprofits. Trinity Fest is a major fundraiser for them.
Chris noted that while Trinity Fest is a lot of work, it’s also fun and, most importantly, carries on Buel’s spirit. The Trinity’s Way members are focused on giving back in her name.
“We just plug along. We keep at it,” he said. “It’s worth it all in the end. You’ve got to do something with your time while you’re on the planet. It might as well be something that helps in some way. If you’re not helping the problem, you’re contributing to the problem. We choose to help, and Trinity did, too.”
