Armchair Travelr - India

This is a past event that has already occured.

About this event

This semi-annual presentation of Armchair Traveler, a program perfect for all members of the family, will feature the large country of India, or as it is officially known, the Republic of India. India is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. With the help of Geet Vanaik, we will explore and discover the wonders of India. Geet came to the U.S. as an international student from India in the late 90s. She earned her B.A. in Biology and M.S. in Biotechnology Management. Geet is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in education at Maryville University. Geet joined the Office International Affairs at SIUE in 2008 and is committed to ensuring that international students have the services and support they need to be successful. The majority of Geet’s family still resides in India and she travels often to visit them. Pami Singh and Steve Singh, owners/operators of Taj India Cuisine in Edwardsville, IL, will prepare the samples of the Indian cuisine that will be served. And, if time permits, we will have a taste of Indian music and dancing. Bring the whole family to explore India without ever leaving the US! Please register at 1-800-613-3163.
