t Rock\, Americana and Music Lovers of all genres!\n\nThe Doobie Broth
ers are a legendary American rock band formed in San Jose\, California
\, in 1970\, and are known for their vocal harmonies and dynamic live
performances. The band is highly unique for achieving massive commerci
al success across two distinct eras\, driven by two different frontmen
.\n\n \n\nThe Tom Johnston Era (Early 1970s): Built on a foundation of
driving acoustic guitars\, dual-lead electric guitars\, and a powerfu
l double-drummer rhythm section. This era produced high-energy rock\,
country-rock\, and boogie staples like "Listen to the Music\," "Long T
rain Runnin'\," "China Grove\," and the chart-topping "Black Water".\n
\n \n\nThe Michael McDonald Era (Late 1970s&ndash\;Early 1980s): When
Johnston sidelined due to health issues\, keyboardist Michael McDonald
joined the group. He shifted the band's direction toward a slick\, so
ulful blend of West Coast soft rock\, blue-eyed soul\, and R&B\, resul
ting in massive hits like "Takin' It to the Streets" and the Grammy-wi
nning "What a Fool Believes"\n\n \n\nThe WSIE Music Series celebrates
regional musicians and brings live music experiences to audiences acro
ss the Metro East and St. Louis region. Food and beverages will be ava
ilable for purchase\, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.\
