DESCRIPTION:The bi-annual diabetes symposium is a large educational ev
ent held by the SIUE School of Pharmacy\, offering 1-on-1 patient coun
seling with a healthcare professional\, A1c testing for those living w
ith diabetes\, insurance education\, OTC education\, diabetic foot ins
pections\, blood pressure checks\, depression screening\, and other he
alth screenings. At this event\, a free lunch is provided\, along with
four options for speaker sessions\, including educational talks on GL
P-1s\, diet\, signs and risks of hypoglycemia\, and what to do\, as we
ll as diabetes technology. At the end of the day\, a vendor fair will 
take place\, where companies can educate patients about their products
/services to aid in the management of diabetes.\n\nThis event is aimed
towards anyone living with diabetes\, healthcare professionals\, supp
orting friends/family of those living with diabetes\, and anyone who i
s interested in learning more. \n\nThis entire event is FREE of charge
\, and we are hopeful to make a difference in the lives of those who j
