Molina Healthcare of Illinois (“Molina”) is partnering with Madison County to sponsor the Project Homeless Connect at Riverbend Family Ministries in Wood River. Project Homeless Connect seeks to provide area residents experiencing homelessness with information on housing and career resources, veteran services and legal assistance. The event will offer community residents wellness and vision exams, vaccines, haircuts, and showers in addition to lunch and refreshments. Molina staff will also be on site to answer questions about health coverage and provide sleeping bags for those in attendance. ???
It is estimated that over 12 percent of Madison County adults face severe housing concerns. Of those experiencing homelessness, 36 percent were in households with children. Through community events such as Project Homeless Connect, Molina hopes to provide needed resources and information to positively impact overall health and wellbeing. This initiative is just one way Molina is increasing access to critical services for Illinoisians.
