About this event

The Hayner Genealogy & Local History Library offers Branching Out classes at the Genealogy & Local History Library, 401 State Street, Alton. Branching Out classes take place from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. On the second Thursday of each month, library staff presents a discussion of a genealogy research topic. On the third Thursday, we gather around the fireplace, and each of us gets a chance to share family stories, photos, and projects. We just relax and listen when we don’t have anything to share. We learn from each other and have some laughs too! April 11 – Sharing and Learning on Social Media April 18 – Discussion Group May 9 – Ancestry.com: Research Records, Build Family Trees, DNA May 16 – Discussion Group June 13 – FamilySearch.org: Research, the WIKI, and FamilyTree June 20 – Discussion Group Branching Out classes and discussion group meetings will continue throughout 2024 on the second and third Thursdays of each month.
