Mental Health First Aid Course

$50.00

April 24 8:30am-3:30pm

Register at: bit.ly/MHFA24

This course is brought to you for only $50 ($170 value) and the certification is valid for the next 3 years!

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

Topics Covered

  • Depression and mood disorders

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Trauma

  • Psychosis

  • Substance Use disorders

Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.

Training will be delivered via Zoom on April 24. Participants will also complete 2 hours of self-paced pre-work prior to the instructor-led training.

**Pre-work and full attendance on April 24 are required to obtain certification**

Isaac Sandidge is an experienced Mental Health First Aid instructor, having trained 522 new First Aiders virtually between May 2020 and March 15, 2021.

You will receive a top-notch training and feel confident to provide the help needed to someone in your life who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use concern.

Hear what some of his participants have said about the training:

“He was an excellent instructor! He made learning new concepts a breeze. He was open and used a lot of examples to help you understand. He knew his stuff! I am one who easily bores in Zooms, but he kept my attention. JOB WELL DONE!” - January 19, 2021

“Isaac was so knowledgeable about everything and I was in Aww of him. He was very approachable and I was thankful for his being that way. I really learned a lot just listening to him speak and explain everything and stopping to make sure we all understood and gave us time to ask questions after every segment. Thank him again for me.” - January 19, 2021

“Isaac presented the material well. I appreciated his ability to explain complexities in simple phrases making it easier to retain the information. He also was able to change his phrasing/language if clarification was requested. I appreciated his awareness and sensitivity to gender identity and minority groups.” - March 10, 2021

“One of the best instructors that I have ever had. Very clear and concise, knowledgeable and engaging.” - March 10, 2021
