EDWARDSVIILE The Junior Service Club of Edwardsville/Glen Carbon is preparing to celebrate all things local at their sold-out charity gala. The 7th annual dinner auction, which will feature decorations by local interior designers and auction items from businesses in the community, will be held Saturday, February 18, at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville.

Guests will enjoy gourmet food, an open bar, live and silent auctions, and dancing. Local favorite, the Dirty Muggs, will once again provide the live entertainment for guests to show off their moves on the dance floor. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Although the event is sold out, there are a few Drinks and Dancing tickets (excludes dinner) remaining for $80 each.

“The gala tickets sold out well before the event. The community really looks forward to the gala each year. Everyone has a blast and the proceeds from the event go back into the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon area,” Beth Schumacher, a committee chair for the dinner auction, stated.

The money raised via ticket sales and auction items goes directly to the more than 35 organizations in the community that are supported by JSC. There are plenty of exciting live auction items to bid on this year. Attendees can also purchase a Golden Ticket (one for $50 or three for $100). If their ticket is drawn, they will have the opportunity to select a live auction item before bidding even begins.

Sponsors also play a big role in the gala’s success. JSC is extremely pleased to have MidAmerica Plastic Surgery and The Spa at MidAmerica Plastic Surgery as the Platinum sponsor for the second year in a row. The St. Louis Metro-based plastic surgery center and spa is headed by board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Ryan Diederich. “We are so fortunate to have such a great community that continually supports JSC, whether it’s by purchasing tickets to our events, local businesses generously providing sponsorships, donations or just lending a helping hand at our events,” stated Taran McKey, a dinner auction committee chair.

Next up on JSC’s agenda is Kidmania, one of the area’s largest consignment sales featuring children’s and maternity clothing and items. It will be held Saturday, March 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Edwardsville High School. Learn more about JSC and its events by visiting www.edglenjuniorservice.org.
