EDWARDSVILLE – SIUE Athletics mourns the passing of former men's basketball coach Larry Graham. Graham passed away Aug. 31. He was 77.

Graham is SIUE's winningest men's basketball coach, tallying a record of 147-84 over eight seasons. His .636 winning percentage also is the best in school history.

"Coach Graham is part of our history and the foundation of men's basketball at SIUE, which we continue to build upon," SIUE Head Coach Brian Barone said. "Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time."

After 15 seasons as the head coach at Madison High and coaching stops at the junior college level, Graham's SIUE tenure began with the 1984-85 season. He coached through the 1991-92 season and guided the Cougars to NCAA Division II Tournament appearances in 1986, 1987 and 1989.

Graham continued to support Cougar men's basketball and regularly attended games at First Community Arena.

Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Mon., Sept. 7 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Glen Carbon.
