River Bend Growth Association held a ceremonial ribbon cutting commemorating Godfrey, Illinois’ newest apartment complex Trailblazer Commons. Located adjacent to Lewis and Clark Community College, Trailblazer Commons provides ‘student housing’, currently for the Community College’s student athletes.
The 21-unit building was constructed by Contegra – an Edwardsville construction company. Planning for the complex began three years ago Brad Barnard of Contegra stated “We built this complex to last, it’s a long term investment we are making in this community and for these kids; that’s why we used quality, durable materials like Hardie board outside the building and special plaster within each apartment.”
Speakers at the event included Monica Bristow, Growth Association President; Mayors Mike McCormick or Godfrey and Brant Walker of Alton; Eric Gowin of Contegra and Sean Hill, Vice President - Student Engagement - LCCC.
