The Civic Memorial Lady Eagles saw their season come to an end last week in the Class 3A Highland Sectional title game.  The Eagles fell to Massac County from Metropolis, 36-31.  The Massac County Lady Patriots won the sectional championship while improving to 21-and-8 on the year.

The C.M. girls finish the season at 26-and-7 after winning their third regional title in a row. 

Head coach Jonathan 's squads are 81-and-18 over the past three seasons with the three regional crowns in '13, '14, and '15.   Denney now has a record of 176-and-95 over nine seasons with the C.M. Lady Eagles. 


There were plenty of milestones again this year for the Lady Eagles.  Sophomore Allie Troeckler led the team in scoring again this season with 694 points (21 ppg).  She now has 1,139 points in her prep career which is 4th on the school's all-time scoring list.  Troeckler broke the single season rebounding record at Civic Memorial with 288.  She broke the record of 286 rebounds held by Sara (Frankford) Buckley.   


The Lady Eagles also set a school record for three-pointers in a single season with 126.  Journey Coffman hit 41 three's, Kaylee Eaton made 38, and Alaira Tyus hit 22 on the year. 


The Eagles had no seniors on the roster.  They mostly played with an 8-player rotation:

Juniors: Journey Coffman, Kalyn Troxell, Katelyn Turbyfill; Sophomores: Allie Troeckler, Kaitlyn Kappler; Freshmen: Kaylee Eaton, Alaira Tyus, Elizabeth Buckley.
