The Cardinals lost in Cincinnati on Saturday. Their loss and the Cubs win in Pittsburgh ties the rivals at the #1 spot in the NL central.
Cards tied the game in the 2nd with a homerun from Matt Carpenter. But, the 1-1 ballgame didn't last past the 3rd inning.
Reds rookie Aristides Aquino hit his 11th homer of the season Saturday night with runners on first and second in the fifth.
That three-run, two-out blast homer off Miles Mikolas blew open a 2-1 game that eventually turned into a 6-1 Cincinnati victory. The series wraps up in Cinci today at 12:10. Tomorrow night the Cards come home to host Milwaukee.
The Cubs managed to stop a possible Pirate's sweep in Pittsburgh. It was a scoreless ballgame until the Cubs had two runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Final score 2-0 Chicago. Cubs and Pirates tonight at 6:10.
