The Cards are in Chicago this weekend. Last night the Cards trailed the Cubs, who led 3-2, until a huge shakeup in the eighth inning, where the cards scored 9 runs. The first nine batters for the cards in that inning reached base and scored, the Cubs not getting an out until the 12th at bat, from their third relief pitcher. Final score was 11-4 Cards. There's a day game today at 3. The Cards finish out the series at Wrigley, tomorrow at 7.

 

GRIZZLIES:

 

The Grizzlies are in Schaumburg for the weekend playing the Boomers. In a game you heard RIGHT HERE ON THE BIG Z last night, the Grizzlies led the Boomers 3-0 until the bottom of the 5th, where they gave up 4 runs. The game was called due to stormy weather in the 6th inning, leaving the Boomers with a 4-3 win. They play again tonight at 6, weather permitting, and tomorrow at 7.

LEGION BB:

 

Jersey Post 492 lost 9-5 yesterday against Peoria in that Third Division tournament. Friday ended the season for Post 492.

 

The Metro East Bears beat Highland yesterday for the Fifth Division title at Glik Park. The Bears ended with a 14-4 victory in their second Friday game against Highland, after losing in the first game 6-5. The Bears are going on to the American Legion State Tournament, starting with a 5 pm game Wednesday against host, Rantoul.
