The Alton Redbirds used a strong fourth quarter to push past the Panthers in O'Fallon Tuesday night. Alton defeated O'Fallon, 61-53 in a Southwestern Conference boys basketball contest. The Redbirds outscored the Panthers, 26-17 in the fourth quarter for their first conference win of the season.
Alton improves to 5-and-1 on the year - 1-and-1 in the SWC. O'Fallon slips to 3-and-4 overall - 1-and-1 in the SWC.
Maurice Edwards had a game-high 17 points for the Redbirds. Darrius Edwards added 14. Carlos Anderson and Bryan Hudson chipped in with 12 points apiece. O'Fallon was led by Donovan Franklin who scored 15 in a losing cause.
