Edwardsville Post 199 opened the Great Lakes Regional with a win over Ash Port, Wisconsin Thursday in Terre Haute, Indiana. Edwardsville crushed the Wisconsin squad, 19-3 in a first round (seven-inning) contest. Post 199 now has a 13-game winning streak in the playoffs and a 34-and-6 record overall.
Drew Curtis led the offense going 4-6 with two home runs and four rbi's. Jordan Heckler added two triples and four rbi's. Starting pitcher Jevon Boyd went five innings to pick up the win on the mound. In the first game Thursday at the Great Lakes Regional: Napoleon, Ohio blew out Plover, Wisconsin, 19-7. Other winners in the first round: (two Indiana teams) Princeton and Terre Haute.
