There are no new members heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame this year.  None of the eligible candidates received the required 75-percent of votes from the Baseball Writers' Association of America for election.  Longtime Houston Astros infielder Craig Biggio was the closest with 68.2-percent of the vote.  Former pitcher Jack Morris received 67.7 percent.

First-time eligibles Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa fell well short after careers clouded by steroid accusations.  Clemens got 37.6-percent, Bonds 36.2-percent and Sosa just 12.5-percent.  It's just the eighth time since voting began in 1936 that no new members were elected to the Hall.
